Summer Walk 2025 : Sunday 10th August 2025
An all day walk from Chaldon Church to Netherne taking in Alderstead Heath on the way out and Devilsden Woods and Happy Valley on the way back. Ending with teas and cakes at Chaldon Church.
Walk leaders Liz Bonsall, Richard Payne and Madeline Hutchins provided historical notes on things of interest on the way. At Netherne, Liz Bonsall gave her walking talk round the conservation area.
The route started with using the new kissing gates that had recently replaced the stiles, then went through many sites / sights mentioned in Liz’s talk on Alderstead earlier in the year.
On the way back, there was a coal post, dene holes, pond and Love Lane – all with stories behind them.
